Terms of Service

Last Updated: July 7, 2026 • Version 4.0

Key Summary:• Payments must occur on-platform
• Clients own their code inputs
• 24-hour notice to cancel sessions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, registering as a mentor, booking a videocall, or browsing the Compessly marketplace, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must immediately close your browser and discontinue all use of the platform.

We reserve the right to amend these terms at any time. We will alert users to major changes by posting announcements inside the user console or emailing active accounts.

2. User Accounts & Role Profiles

Users can register under two separate profiles: Clients (seeking guidance) or Mentors (providing guidance).

  • Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old or represent a legally recognized business entity.
  • Profile Veracity: Mentors are subject to professional audit. You agree to submit genuine credentials, resumes, employment confirmations, and link actual LinkedIn accounts.
  • Credentials Security: You are responsible for keeping dashboard logins secure. Compessly is not liable for unauthorized access resulting from compromised local passwords.

3. Platform Wallet & Payments

Compessly provides a specialized internal ledger and wallet architecture:

Clients pay for sessions using card checkouts (via Stripe). Funds are placed securely in escrow until a session concludes successfully, after which funds are credited to the Mentor's wallet (minus platform facilitation fees).

Withdrawals can be requested from the mentor dashboard and are deposited directly into a linked bank account via our payment gateways. For more details on cancellation eligibility, please consult our Refund Policy.

4. Code of Conduct & Anti-Circumvention

Payments and scheduling must remain inside the Compessly platform.

You explicitly agree not to share external bank details, Paypal links, or contact info to complete bookings offline. Circumventing our system to avoid platform service fees is a material breach of this agreement and will lead to an immediate, permanent suspension of all involved client and mentor accounts, with forfeiture of any pending wallet balance.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

We respect your creations, code, and intellectual properties:

  • Your Code: Code blocks, app ideas, system architectures, or schemas shared by a client during screen-shares and chat remains the exclusive property of the client.
  • Mentor Advice: Guidance, tips, code modifications, or comments delivered by a mentor are licensed to the booking client on a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide basis for any internal commercial use.
  • Platform Brand: All page designs, icons, content text, backend routers, database architectures, and logos belong exclusively to Compessly.

6. Warranties & Disclaimers

“Compessly connects you with advisors. We do not provide engineering warranties or commercial guarantees.”

The mentorship is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. Mentors act as independent contractors and are not employees, agents, or legal representatives of Compessly. We do not guarantee that the advice received will achieve specific financial targets, pass coding reviews, or satisfy fundraising panels.

7. Account Termination

We reserve the right, without liability, to suspend or terminate any user account if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms, engaged in harassing behaviors, or bypassed payment processors. You may cancel your account at any time by contacting our support desk.

8. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflicts of law provisions. Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration in San Francisco, California, under the simplified rules of the American Arbitration Association.
